Using plain views in favor of activities and fragment has become a hot Android topic, but many wonder if this works for larger apps. One year ago we rebuilt the Lyft app to use only views, and while there are downsides, we are still glad we did.

Alexey Zakharov is a Lead Android Engineer at Lyft who focuses on internal frameworks and scaling development within rapdily growing Lyft Android team. He was the first Android Engineer at Lyft and solely built original Lyft app that includes both passenger and driver functionality. Before Lyft Alexey had his own mobile consulting agency based in Russia.
