Optimus Slider Virgin Mobile 19.99 Review: Use it as an Ipod Touch

I recently bought an LG Optimus Slider from Virgin Mobile’s prepaid website. It only costs 19.99 but it’s sold out now. If you have young children or were in the market for a portable mp3/video player, then this is a great alternative to buying a more expensive ipod touch. It has decent speakers and can play games like angry birds and fruit ninja.

As mentioned because app space is limited to 180mb, rooting the phone may be suggested since it will allow you to maintain your drive space better and remove bloatware included by virgin mobile. Rooting is quite easy.

800mhz processor with 512mb ram and 512mb rom.
Only 180mb app space though.
Phone comes with a 2gb micro sd and 3.2mp cam.
Oh… forgot to mention in the video it has a nice keyboard.

Here’s a list of pre-installed apps i removed with titanium backup: twitter, new & weather, home screen, facebook, virgin mobile live, SCVNGR, Poynt, downloads, and airG chat. My phone still works.

At one point they sold HTC One V for $50 around black friday. I think those were great deals too.

Update 3/20/2013: I’ve finally sold the phone off of craigslist for $35. I never really used the phone as an ipod.
