It’s no secret that Google is getting ready to announce two new smartphones on October 4. But these won’t be Nexus phones, because Google wants to start anew with a Pixel family of handsets, which will likely include a 5-inch Pixel, and a 5.5-inch Pixel XL.
We’ve already seen various images depicting both the Pixel and Pixel XL, and today we can take another look at the former, thanks to renders revealed by @OnLeaks (a reliable source). Reportedly, the renders are based on a factory CAD, so they should provide a pretty accurate representation of the real device.
According to @OnLeaks, the Google Pixel XL measures 154.72 x 75.74 x 7.3 mm, though it’s up to 8.5 mm thick at the top — where the rear seems to be covered by a glass plate including the phone’s fingerprint scanner and main camera. Obviously, this is a big device, though it’s not larger than last year’s Nexus 6P (159.3 x 77.8 x 7.3 mm), or the brand new iPhone 7 Plus (158.2 x 77.9 x 7.3 mm).
Save for the glass portion at the top, the Pixel XL is supposedly made out of metal. You can check out a 360-degree view of the device in the video embedded below.
