This is brilliant. The hardest thing is actually getting their products. After months I’m still unable to buy their Mi Band 2 at the Xiaomi stores in China(where handy) and the online store in Taiwan. The only method is highly inflated grey market prices.

It would be great to book online or in store and wait for it to turn up at the store then be accessible for warranty purposes (not that I have had any faults).

I think their should focus on bring their online presence to more countries with adequate local support centers.

Having retail store would bring up their phone prices.

Guessing from their phone advertising, its safe to assume their stores will be a near replica of the Apple Store

Well, you can certainly see where Xiaomi get its design cues from. I could have sworn I was looking at a bunch of iPhone images with just a touch of Samsung thrown in the mix for good measure.

That is why they are sidestepping the US. The moment they land here, they are going to be drag to court, and they know it.

Getting in to the retail business are not a easy move, very expensive. I think its better to sell online and get some deals with existing electronic stores and phone carriers etc..
