Good specs and price tag, though not a big bang for the buck like the Xiaomi Mi 5 which retails at a similar price tag.
Will be worth getting, if Samsung promises timely updates for the On8.

Mi5 costs almost twice this phone in India, and that’s for the lower end mi5 with the underclocked SD 820.

Specs are good but then again Sammy is starting to confuse the customers.
J series — Midrange phone with decent specs and Amoled
J Prime Series — Metal, Finger print sensor, IPS LCD — A new series should have been created
On — Entry Level specs with good battery life, TFT displayWTF does On8 now have a Full HD panel and AMOLED.
Pure s**t. Samsung is nuts again. I am beginning to not like what Sammy is doing but I don’t think there is an alternative.

Thats what i was thinking in developing countries like india samsung has the bad reputation of flooding the market with their overpriced junks. But i do think galaxy on 8 is a good deal for a people who wants to experience full hd amoled display with a touch wiz experience.

SD616?
btw, not bad pricing for samsung brand…
they usually sell this kind of specs for $350+ (just look at galaxy A7(2016), SD615, 3GB RAM, 16GB storage for $440)

You should take into consideration that the A7 2016 got a superior build quality than this On8.

It’s just a rebranded J7 2016.
Samsung Galaxy On8 goes official with 5.5-inch AMOLED, octa-core processor and more
