OnePlus 3T rumored to cost $80 more than the OnePlus 3

OnePlus tried to redeem in the eyes of its fans with the launch of the OnePlus 3, but the Chinese company can hardly keep up with the demand. Obviously, this isn’t a bad thing, it just the OnePlus 3 harder to come by.

Anyway, some of you might already be aware that previous rumors suggested that OnePlus 3 production might be halted due to the lack of AMOLED displays. However, the company’s officials denied these rumors and said that the OnePlus 3 will continue to sell in the coming months.

The good news is the smartphone that was rumored to replace the OnePlus 3 is still in the cards. Long-time leaker Evan Blass claims OnePlus 3T is the name of the next smartphone launched by the Chinese company.

Although he doesn’t say when exactly the device will be announced, he revealed another interesting piece of information. The new smartphone will be $80 more expensive than the OnePlus 3, which clearly suggests that it will come with some upgrades over the original model. Currently, the OnePlus 3 costs $400 outright, so the OnePlus 3T could be available on the market for around $480.

One of the upgrades could be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset that’s now included in the Pixel smartphones, but we don’t rule out a better display as well.

The OnePlus 3 sports a 5.5-inch optic AMOLED display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution, and features Corning Gorilla Glass 4 coating. Since OnePlus confirmed that it won’t give up optic displays, the next upgrade the company could add to its future products could be higher resolution screens.

Time will tell what other improvements the OnePlus 3T will include over the standard OnePlus 3 model and whether or not it will worth the upgrade.
