Lenovo Phab 2 Pro with Google’s Tango 3D camera goes on sale Nov. 1

The Lenovo Phab 2 Pro is finally getting closer to its public release. A listing on the company’s store site says that the 6.4-inch smartphone with Google’s Tango 3D camera will officially go on sale November 1.

The head of VR at Google, Clay Bavor, previously said the Phab 2 Pro would go on sale in November, but now Lenovo has given us a specific date for when that will actually happen. This will be the first smartphone with Tango (previously known as “Project Tango”) technology. The Phab 2 Pro’s 3D camera is supposed to scan its outside surroundings and create detailed 3D maps that could be used for augmented reality games, graphics and more.

The Lenovo Phab 2 Pro will have a 2560×1400 display, along with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage.  The expected price of the phone is supposed to be around $500.

Meanwhile you can get the unlocked Phab 2 right now from Lenovo. It has the same 6.4-inch size as the Phab 2 Pro, but the hardware inside is very different. Most notably, it lacks the Tango camera. The display is just 1280×720, and it has a Mediatek MT8735 quad-core processor inside. It has Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, along with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a conventional 13MP rear camera, and a 5MP front-facing camera. You can buy the Phab 2 right now for $199.99 in either Champagne Gold or Gunmetal Gray and it works with GSM networks like AT&T and T-Mobile.
