HTC Bolt with QHD display to be powered by the Snapdragon 810

Because it is almost 2 years old and it was known for overheating in the HTC One M9. And mainly because HTC are happy with their overall sales decreasing a year over year.. Good move HTC!

One of two things could be happening here:

1. They have a bunch of leftover Snapdragon 810s that they ordered for a previous phone and therefore have to get rid of inventory.

2. They want to market the device at a lower end price and therefore are using an older processor that is still more powerful than Snapdragon mid-range chipsets.

Jesus Christ HTC, you should already know that this processor has bad reputation. Anyway I don’t think its that bad as everyone says. Did everyone forget that SD810 powers praised Nexus 6P and somehow nobody has a problem with it?

The 6P is the best running Snapdragon 810 implementation but it still suffers from throttling, battery drains and heating. It is just to a lesser extent than other phones because of the aluminium body and the huge size of the 6P.

The 810 bad PR wasn’t some conspiracy theory. The SoC had real issues as is clearly proven by professional tests on many sites.
