Do you ever use the Reachability feature on your iPhone?

Apple insisted on its small-sized iPhones up until the critical point when many people switched camp to Android just because it offered larger devices. However, when it introduced its first bigger phones in 2014 — the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus — Apple still felt obliged to include a feature that would help users reach every corner of the screen even on these bigger iPhones.

The feature is Reachability: double tap on the iPhone’s home key and the upper half of your screen moves much lower, allowing you to reach the top part of an app with one hand easily.

However, as more and more people grow accustomed to these larger phone form factors, it seems like it has become a habit for people to twist their phone in the hand and reach the upper parts of the display with some slight hand gymnastics rather than using that Reachability shortcut.

And having such a key shortcut occupied by something that is not used by many people just seems like a waste. After all, imagine if you could fire up the camera by double tapping the home button, a shortcut that we’re sure many iPhone users would appreciate. Or maybe have the option to set your own shortcut for the double tap action?

Whatever it is that’s possible, we’re first curious to learn whether you use that Reachability shortcut at all. Sound off in the poll and let us know your wishes for a double tap iPhone shortcut in the comments below.
